Guiyang has carried out a series of measures to ensure the education of local children and youth.
The city has been taking education as priority. In terms of preschool education, the layout of kindergartens covers all the rural and urban areas and the enrollment ratio reached 88.6 percent.
To balance the compulsory education, including the primary and junior high education, the city carried out a project to improve the food supply in rural areas, benefiting approximately 130,000 students. The enrollment ratio of compulsory education in Guiyang exceeded 93 percent by 2015.
Importance was also attached to the education in senior high school and vocational school by reforming curriculums and improving school management.
