More than 1,000 runners from all over the world ran in the scenic Leigong Mount International Marathon in the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture this weekend.
In addition to the traditional full marathon and half marathon, the competition’s organizers included a set of extra-long distance and extra-long time marathons.
The signature race of the event was the 100-kilometer marathon, which was split up into three sections and raced over three days.
It is the fifth year the race has been held in Kaili, which entertained guests from countries including Russia, Germany and Ethiopia with its serene landscapes and charming ethnic cultures. All competitors were granted free access to the prefecture’s scenic spots.
