The International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports will take place from Sept 22-23 in the Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, located in southwest Guizhou province.
More than 1,000 guests are slated to attend including the conference and its activities, including government officials, tourism experts around the world and representatives of tourist organizations.
The conference will be themed on exploring Guizhou’s landscapes and the harmony between man and nature. It aims to promote the sustainable development of mountain tourism and encourage cooperation within the industry.
After launching October last year as the International Conference of Mountain Tourism, this year’s installment features the addition of outdoor sports and 69 new activities and forums.
The two-day conference will highlight ways to alleviate poverty through tourism and establish an international mountain tourism association, the first of its kind in southwest China.
The conference will showcase China’s tourism image and boost international cooperation in mountain tourism.
