Guiyang’s development of e-commerce is the result of a concerted drive to grow the sector. As early as 2008, the city enacted a series of policies to support e-commerce and was listed among the first batch of the country’s special zones for e-commerce in 2012.

The city currently has more than 17,400 enterprises engaging in e-commerce, and has one platform, 16 parks and 10 operation centers dealing with e-commerce businesses. More than 240 service stations in the countryside are also available to villagers to help them access e-commerce services.
