Guizhou province has announced plans to put 40 billion yuan ($6.44billion) into a 3-year county road improvement project, starting this coming Jan 1 and covering about 17,500 kilometers, 17,000 km of road safeguards, and 6,000 km of paving in the 2016 – 2018 period.
The roads will connect 12 industrial parks, 17 modern farm demonstration sites, 20 urban demonstration sites, and 17 different tourist attractions.
The total length of Guizhou's highway system now is 5,128 km.
