According to statistics released by the provincial public security department, on the night of May 24, police in the province investigated more than 150 public security cases, detained 300 suspects and confiscated 160 controlled knives.

Lasting for three days, the operation targets small hotels, rental houses, Internet cafes, bars, train stations, coach stations and airports where criminals probably would hide, according to Zhao Xiang, deputy director-general of the provincial public security department.

When inspecting the Guiyang Train Station that night, Qin Rupei, secretary of the provincial commission for justice and public security, required that more dogs should be arranged to patrol the area. Meanwhile, each police team needs to take action within one minute if any accident happens. Thus, an effective system would be established for managing the station.

“Guiyang Train Station is one of the most crowded places in the province, so the management of the station should be a model for other places to crack down on violent crimes,” Qin said.

One patrolling militia said that Nanming district of Guiyang began the operation in the train station one month ago. The militias rotate every two hours, checking suspicious people and their belongings.
