And the cooperation with Taiwan Twenty-First Century Foundation to build the Cross-Straits Modern Agricultural Institution has been signed up.

To some extent, FAAS has made great achievements. With its 16 research agencies, 9 laboratories of national levels, and 29 innovation platforms, it has achieved a lot in terms of maintaining the seeds of rare plants and cultivating several producers’ seeds, including hybrid rice, transgenic rice and so on and so forth and also loquat. Right now, more than 385 awards of national levels and provincial levels have been givened.

FAAS took advantages of its unique merits, like its location, cultural bond to tighten its close collaboration with Taiwan. Liu Bo, the head of this academy exposed that they attached great importance to the selection of high quality seeds and the innovation of new produces involving hybrid ones. 60-90% of all the farmland in Fujian has been taken to plant those which are improved or modified. It has been functioning as a vital part to extract advanced experiences and technology from Taiwan.
