The integration of tea culture and tourism has been a pursuit of Taining county, Sanming, East China's Fujian province in recent years, with a tea park built at the center of its most famous Dajinhu Lake scenic area as part of a project of the local government for developing eco-tourism.

The park, covering over 33 hectares, focuses on growing Wuyi Rock Tea, a famous tea variety in Fujian province, to promote the distinct local tea culture of the region.

It was sponsored by Fujian Lvsheng Ecological Agricultural Development Co, the president of which is a tea enthusiast who claims to have done tea business for eight years.

"Taining is a famous tourist county, so it should be a promising business to promote tea culture though tourism here," said the president Yang Jianhua.

With its advantageous location in the Dajinhu Lake scenic area, the park enables a view of not only the lush green tea trees, but also the charming lake scenery and spectacular Danxia landform.
