Xiamen is to host four exhibitions at the city's International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 10 to 14 to showcase traditional handicrafts, the latest spring tea, Buddhist items, and vegetarian food.

The coastal city organized the Traditional Handicraft Fair for the first time to showcase China's classic handicrafts, including silk embroidery works, porcelain, lacquerware and sculpture.

A renowned dough sculpture master from Malaysia and inheritors of China's national intangible cultural heritages, such as lacquer art and bodiless lacquer, will be invited to show off their delicate techniques.

The Tea Industry Fair is for the first time being held in spring – it used to be held only in autumn.

The upcoming spring edition plans to establish 2,600 booths in a 53,000 square meter exhibition area for nearly 1,000 tea enterprises from 15 countries and regions.

Some 250,000 participants from home and abroad are expected to attend the fair.

The Buddhist Items and Crafts Fair 2018 (Spring Edition) together with the Vegetarian Food Fair 2018 (Spring Edition) will cover 110,000 square meters, showcasing Buddhist sculptures, musical instruments used in Buddhism, and various vegetarian foods.

The two events this year set a new record in number of applicants. Approximately 200,000 businesspeople from 17 countries and regions are expected to attend.

The international exhibition area of the former event was increased by 38 percent to display Buddhist sculptures and items from Japan, South Korea, Canada, and other countries.
