The first China–Netherlands Semiconductor Industry Cooperation Forum was held in Xiamen on March 12, aiming to promote the two countries' cooperation in semiconductor industry, local media reported.

Representatives from China's semiconductor enterprises and its more than 20 Dutch counterparts attended the forum to discuss ways to seek out cooperation, dig out potential investors and increase development opportunities in the global market.

Yu Xiekang, vice-chairman of China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA) and Barry Peet, chairman of Netherlands Semiconductor Industry Association (HSIA) reported on the development of the two countries' semiconductor industry during the forum.

"China has developed a complete industrial chain for semiconductor," Yu said. "Almost all the large scale semiconductor enterprises in the world have entered the Chinese market and increased their investment in China."

The R&D level of Netherlands' semiconductor industry has always led the world and one fourth of the world's semiconductor devices is made in Netherlands.

Wang Yanhui, secretary general of China Semiconductor Investment Alliance, said that Chinese enterprises need to cooperate with overseas counterparts to realize further development and upgrading.

Xiamen is now actively constructing a complete regional ecosystem of integrated circuit industry which has now become the bull's eye of semiconductor industry.
