Fuzhou, capital of southeast China's Fujian Province, posted double-digit growth in tourism revenue during the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, official data showed Feb 22.

The tourism industry garnered 1.9 billion yuan (about $310 million) in revenue, up 38.4 percent from last year's holiday, according to the Fuzhou Tourism Bureau.

More than 2.5 million tourists were received, up 30.8 percent from last year's holiday, the local tourism department said in a statement.

The city’s "travel month" campaign launched to celebrate Spring Festival has been a major contributor to the boost of the tourism industry. Tourists can pick any of five specially designated routes to experience the gorgeous scenery, hot springs, tasty cuisine and brilliant culture of the southeast city.

SanfangQixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys) remained the top destination during this Spring Festival, attracting more than 1.25 million visitors. Other hot spots include Gushan Mountain Scenic Area, Fuzhou Forest park and Qingyun Mountain Scenic Area.
