The Pingtan Blue International Beer Festival came to an end on Sept 10.

In addition to the range of craft beers on offer, the live performances by renowned Hong Kong singer Yan Yige and the cross-Straits bands of Bakela and Weinasi were some of the biggest highlights of the festival.

For most of the performers, it was their first time visiting Pingtan in South China’s Fujian province, and the island city's hospitality and captivating views left a deep impression on them.

"The climate is great here. It is such a joy to stroll along the beach with the mild sea breeze stroking my face," said Yan Yige, who was visiting Pingtan for the first time.

Yan's positive comments were echoed by Lin Weiyan, a member of Weinasi, a Taiwan band.

"I felt embraced by the great enthusiasm of the audience as we performed onstage," Lin said. "Pingtan is so beautiful, and so are the people here."

The event, jointly sponsored by Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Tourism Co, Fujian Provincial Committee of Tourism Development and Fujian Media Group, is one of a series of activities designed to promote tourism in the city.
