Taxation authorities of Pingtan, Fujian province worked together to launch a joint service center for local residents to handle different tax payments at one service window in August, local news portal ptnet.cn reported on Dec 7.

The officials said that so far, the joint center has helped over 3,000 people proceed with tax payments, with tax revenue totaling 136 million yuan ($21.2 million).

This new move brought great convenience to local people. Some said that now they do not have to go to different departments to pay taxes, and it is incredibly time-saving.

According to local officials, in a bid to make it easier for the residents to pay taxes, cooperation between taxation authorities started in 2013 in tax registration. Then they explored cooperation in services, law enforcement and promotion in 2014. However, these measures did not help the authorities reach their goals, so they joined hands to open a joint service center in August this year.
