Award-winning calligraphy works on display in Quanzhou

An exhibition of award-winning calligraphy works selected from the fourth China Maritime Silk Road Calligraphy Contest opened at the Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum in Quanzhou, Fujian province on Nov 6.

Zhang Zuoxing, vice chairman of Fujian Federation of Literary and Art Circles, addressed the opening ceremony, "Quzhou has made cultural development a priority and offered strong support to the calligraphy sector. The contest and exhibition are expected to promote exchanges among different countries."

A total 124 works in different styles are on display at the 10-day exhibition.

The fourth Maritime Silk Road calligraphy contest started in March and within two months, the organizing committee received 9,207 entries from across the world, including Macao, Taiwan, the US, Spain, Indonesia, Thailand and Japan. It is regarded as one of the most influential calligraphy contests in China in 2015.
