Park to highlight Maritime Silk Road culture

The Maritime Silk Road Art Park – Asia will open to the public in Quanzhou, Fujian province on Nov 8.

A sail-shaped sculpture in the central park implies the dream of the Maritime Silk Road. The road map has been carved on granite flagstones.

An eye-catching red house is also located at the park. It was built in the Minnan (southern Fujian) architectural style. Its ground is comprised of 500,000 tiles, highlighting the ocean culture with pictures of waves and islands.

The park also includes a sculpture group showing the prosperity of maritime trade in the past.

The park will be a location for various exhibitions of the Asia Arts Festival which will be held in Quanzhou on Nov 8-15.
