Journalists were optimistic about a closer bond between Pingtan and Indonesia, noting their geographic advantages as China is promoting cooperation along the modern Maritime Silk Road.

The following are their comments on Pingtan:

Director of Bali branch of The Indonesia News Agency: “Pingtan has a lot of potential. Its development will not only influence regions on the road and maritime silk roads, but also the whole world. I hope Pingtan can match and even surpass Bali. We will definitely promote Pingtan’s brand using after returning to Indonesia.”

Huang Jianhui, reporter of Qiandao Daily (a Chinese newspaper in Bali, Indonesia): “Pingtan has obvious regional advantages and is likely to become global hotspot for Taiwanese and overseas Chinese to come and invest.”

Liang Zhihai, editor of Bali Fengcai (a Chinese newspaper in Bali, Indonesia): I am looking forward to Pingtan and Indonesia sharing information to let more people learn about Pingtan. We also expect media from both sides to mutually open branches or push for academic programs.
