Twin Towers: Xiamen's tallest buildings to be put into operation in June or July

Standing at 300 meters each, the Twin Towers are expected to be the tallest buildings in Xiamen after being put into use in late June or early July

The Twin Towers, which stand at 300 meters each, are expected to be the tallest buildings in Xiamen. One of the towers was recently capped and is expected to be put into use in late June or early July.

The facility, featuring two 64-floor, sail-like Twin Towers, is also known as Xiamen Shimao Cross-strait Plaza. The facility was constructed with investment of 5 billion yuan by Shanghai Shimao Group. The buildings lie west of Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University, north of Yanwu Bridge, east of Gulangyu Island and south of Xiamen Botanical Garden.

One of the towers was designed as a SOHO office building, and the other as a comprehensive building for a five-star hotel and high-end offices. The complex's annex will be a commercial complex integrating shopping, entertainment and catering facilities.

According to the Xiamen Development and Reform Commission, the Twin Towers facility is one of two key projects in the city that will soon complete construction and be put into use. The other almost-completed project is the Xiamen Petroleum Exchange Center in SEC (Strait Economic Center) in Haicang District.

Located at the west side of Haicang Avenue, the construction of the first phase of the Xiamen Petroleum Exchange Center in SEC is expected to be completed in October. The facility falls within the free trade zone in Haicang.
