The fire, which had been put off, resumed at around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday. It was later extinguished again at around 11:40 p.m., said the headquarters for handling this accident at the Tenglong Aromatic Hydrocarbon (Zhangzhou) Co. Ltd. on the Gulei Peninsula in Zhangzhou City.

The same oil tank caught fire again at around 2:09 a.m. on Wednesday. Residues contained in one of the oil storage tanks had self-ignited when exposed to the air, according to the headquarters.

More than 170 fire engines have arrived to battle the blaze.

On Monday evening, oil leaked from the xylene facility caught fire and led to blasts at three nearby oil storage tanks at the company.
