Authority in Fujian province plans to improve security on its school buses, as well as road safety by requiring all of school buses to be equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS), people.com.cn reported on March 16.

The GPS equipment will allow transportation safety regulators to monitor the location and speed of school buses.

Other security measures include enhancing a public surveillance system on school buses, improving road safety facilities near schools.
