One person died and three others were injured in an accident in Xiamen city early on Friday morning, police said.

The collision occurred on the Haicang Bridge. A surveillance camera showed a black Camry rear-end a tractor before crashing into guardrails at around 5:13 am. Minutes later, a minibus overturned after hitting goods which had spilled from the car.

The Camry driver was killed while three passengers on the minibus were injured and sent to hospital.

The incident caused serious traffic congestion for five hours.

The case is being investigated.
