NDRC official calls for global efforts in MSR construction

China and countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (MSR) will step up cooperation in various sectors to achieve a common prosperity, said He Lifeng, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission.

The eight fields where the countries plan to cooperate are infrastructure, economy and trade, industrial investment, financial sector, culture and education, energy resources, environment and maritime resources, said He addressing an international MSR seminar held in Quanzhou, East China’s Fujian province, on Feb 12.

The seminar was hosted by the State Council Information Office and co-organized by Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China International Publishing Group and the Fujian Academy of Social Sciences. More than 280 academics and experts from 30 countries were invited to discuss proposals to build a "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" at the two-day event.
