Members of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) suggested building a platform for youth exchange and communication between the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao at a panel meeting held to review the Work Report of the Fujian Provincial CPPCC on January 27.

Yu Peidi, member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial CPPCC, pointed out that, at present, Fujian has a golden opportunity for development as the central government has endowed many preferential policies on the province.

He suggested all members of the Standing Committee fully study the details of all the preferential policies and help to attract more investment to Fujian.

Gao Yuding, another member of the Standing Committee, suggested that the government should invite more experts to discuss preferential policies concerning the construction of the Fujian Free Trade Zone (FTZ). “Preferential policies for enterprise registration, capital verification and customs clearance should be refined,” Gao said.

Huang Ruohong suggested that an overseas exchange foundation for youth communication be set up as soon as possible. She also encouraged more youth exchange and communication programs be held between Fujian and Hong Kong.

Wu Lianmeng said that 2015 is the 70th anniversary of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The Macao SAR will organize various commemorative activities and carry out patriotic education.

Moreover, he further stressed that the Macao SAR will actively respond to the central government’s concept of “One Belt and One Road” and take concerted action with Fujian province to boost economic development.
