'Two Sessions' delegates weigh in on Pingtan's development (Part I)

The Fifth Session of the Pingtan Committee of the 9th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Fourth Session of the Pingtan Committee of the 16th National People's Congress concluded on Jan 22 and 23, respectively.

The following is advice given by some of the representatives at the ‘Two Sessions':

Xue Yufeng (delegate of People's Congress of Tancheng Township)

Pingtan could consider building a “jade museum” to strengthen cross-Straits communication on cultural relics. It will serve as a platform for showcasing returned precious cultural relics – especially jadeware from Taiwan, and will further boost the tourism industry in Pingtan.

Gao Zihua (delegate of People's Congress of Pingyuan Township)

Pingtan should accelerate the opening of bus routes to rural areas to alleviate traffic difficulties there.

Cheng Yunling (delegate of People's Congress of Tancheng Township)

The 400-meter road outside the front gate of the Forest Park has remained in a poor condition. The authority ought to improve the situation as soon as possible.

Shi Jiaqiang (delegate of People's Congress of Beicuo Township)

Tanxi Boulevard has inadequate safety measures in the section near the Beicuo Primary School, which may impose risks to students and passers-by. The road authority must do something about that, such as setting up warning signs at intersections.
