Okinawa’s representative office in Fujian held a tourism promotion conference, the “Okinawa Night”, at Kota’s Kitchen, a Japanese restaurant on Lujiang Road in Xiamen on January 22.
Japanese tourism has seen a great boom in China, and Japan has been awarded as the “most popular tourism destination among Chinese” for 2 consecutive years. Okinawa, which is famous as being a “Hawaii in Japan”, has shown great passion in the boom and took the first step in advertising itself to Xiamen citizens.
According to the conference, a Fuzhou-Okinawa direct flight is expected to be opened during the Spring Festival and will be flying in the form of charted flights, and more flights are expected to be opened if the response is good. Besides, a batch of cruise lines travelling between Xiamen and Okinawa are expected to be opened in 2015 and to be on service for the entire summer.
