Gao Miaogui set out on Saturday, and planned to complete the course by Thursday, just two days before the 2015 Xiamen Marathon kicks off.

Xiamen Marathon will be the 34th marathon race for Gao, who aims to complete 100 over the next few years. Being an ordinary office worker, he spends a big chunk of his spare time running.

It is not the first time for Gao to challenge a super long-distance march. He ran from Fuzhou to Xiamen over five days back in March. And he ran 350 km from Fuzhou to Wuyishan city to take part in another marathon activity there in November.

The biggest obstacle this time will be the shortened daytime and the chilly weather which might give him a cold, he said.
