A flock of Ovis orientalis sheep, or mouflon sheep, traveled for 16 hours from Shanghai and arrived in Haicang Safari Park, Xiamen, Fujian province on Dec 21.

The mouflon sheep originates in Australia and is on the endangered list in Europe. They have reddish brown hair and a white belly, and look like domestic sheep in appearance.

The males have light-colored saddle-like spots on their backs and large cuspidated horns, while the females have no horns.

The sheep are so good at jumping that the park is building higher fences to house them. They will soon meet visitors.
