The delegation and an association of Fujian entrepreneurs in Canada signed a slate of cooperation deals ranging from logistics to medicine, e-commerce and many other cultural projects. Fuzhou also announced it would set up an office for overseas communication in Canada.

Braving heavy snow, the delegation drove more than 500 kilometers from Ottawa to Toronto to connect with overseas Fujian merchants.

Yang briefed local merchants on some basic facts about the business environment in Fuzhou. He highlighted that the Chinese State Council had just approved the establishment of a free trade zone in Fujian to boost its development, and will allocate a fund of 750 million yuan ($121 million) over the next five years.
