Siming – hometown of sports stars

An athletics competition for primary and middle school students was held in Siming district, Xiamen, Fujian province on Nov 12. The primary and middle schools in Siming are famous for their large quantities of world sports champions.

Lin won the 69-kilogram weight lifting with a score of 334 kilograms (snatch 157 kilograms, clean and jerk 187 kilograms) in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Ye ranked first in the Trampoline World Championships in 2009, the China national trampoline championship in 2011, and the National Games of the PRC in 2013.

Chen was the winner of the women’s trampoline in 2012 Asian Youth Championships, and in the 12th Asian Junior Athletics Championship.

Wang ranked fourth in the women’s freestyle swimming 4×100 meters relay race in the 30th Olympic Games in London.

Dai won the bronze medal in the Asian Games in 2010, and the gold medal in the 12th National Games of the PRC, which was held in northeastern China’s Liaoning province in 2013.
