The heroes, who come from all walks of life, have shown their bravery and love, according to an official statement.

The 39 were divided into three categories based on the varied level of their good deeds, and each of them was awarded 90,000 yuan ($14,730), 60,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan accordingly.

Fuzhou tips its hat to those who stand out in the nick of time for others, and will continue to cultivate the public’s awareness of helping one another, said Chen Weiming, a member of the Standing Committee of Fuzhou’s Party Committee at the awards ceremony.
