The mascot, named Rongrong, is a cartoon figure of a banyan tree, which is the city tree of Fuzhou. With its verdant green color and smiling facial expression, Rongrong is a symbol of environmental protection. It also represents the spirit of the city and good wishes for the future.

The slogan, which underscores the culture of “Fu,” or happiness and blessing in Chinese, portrays the powerful and positive figures of youth, who bring strong momentum to the development of society nowadays.

The collection activity, which spans nationwide, includes Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao and started in April. By July, the organizing committee had received a total of over 3,000 art works, including over 1,000 slogans, 280 anthems, and 2,010 emblems and mascots.
