The 350-square-meter pavilion is composed of miniatures of Pingtan’s iconic landscapes and tourist resources, including ancient folk dwellings, fishing vessels and a “blue tear scene” which refers to a glowing beach due to bioluminescent microbes.

The culture of fishing villages is among the most popular programs at the pavilion. Wang Qian, a college student, showed spectators how to weave a fishing net. Near by, a farmer’s wife was boiling and serving fish balls in a unique stone house.

Arts performances kept rolling on at the pavilion, with different ethnic minorities showcasing their special dancing, which all contributes to the charm of Pingtan’s marine culture, according to Wu Jiehua, director of the local economic development bureau.

The “blue tear” zone was a buzz, too. Visitors lined up to try walking on the glowing sand and gasp at the beauty beneath their feet.

“I was lucky to have been to Pingtan before to see the ‘blue tear’. And I have to say the pavilion reminds of everything about that wonderful experience,” said Ms Zhang from Fuzhou.

Pingtan’s delegates also brought a variety of cultural creative products and caved shells designed by local crafters, all of which have greatly appealed to the crowd.
