A middle school affiliated with Fujian Normal University (FNU) is being built in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), the Pingtan Times reported on Aug 15.

The school is situated in Haixia Ruyi Town, a community in Jinjing Bay district. It will take up 84,000 square meters after completion with the goal of becoming a Class I standard middle school in the province, the first of its kinds in Pingtan.

The school will open 24 classes for junior high school students and 30 for high schoolers.

Pingtan and FNU will also jointly set up a primary school based on agreements signed in 2012.
