Xiamen's six state-owned enterprises rank in national top 500

Eleven enterprises in Fujian province – six of them in Xiamen – are in the list of 2014 top 500 Chinese enterprises compiled by the Fortunechina website on July 14. The number for Fujian and Xiamen was fourteen and seven last year respectively.

These six state-owned enterprises are Xiamen C&D, ranking 46th, Xiamen ITG, ranking 118th, Xiamen Xiangyu Group, 147th, Xiamen Xindeco, 208th, Xiamen King Long Motor Group, 238th, and Xiamen Tangsten, which was ranked in 448th place.

The top three in the list are Sinopec, China Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC). The top 20 are all state-owned enterprises except for Lenovo Group, in 20th place.

The total income of the top 500 companies was 28.9 trillion yuan ($ 4.66 trillion), which increased by 10.4 percent over the year and contributed to more than half of GDP in 2013. The total profits of these 500 companies were 2.5 trillion yuan ($0.403 trillion), an increase of 13.5 percent.

The income of the last one in the list – Texhong Textile Group Limited - was 82.3 billion yuan ($ 13.26 billion), which increased by 13 percent. The total profit of twenty-nine enterprises in the financial industry, was 1.27 trillion yuan ($ 0.205 trillion), contributing to more than half of the total profit of these 500 companies. The first 10 percent of the 40 most profitable companies was made up by all the commercial banks in both 2013 and 2014.
