The first performance at the Xiamen Lingling International Circus city attracted 15,000 audience members from more than 10 counties on May 3.

The circus city has performers from Russia, Ukraine, Kenya and China. The city also has many animal stars including kangaroos, elephants, donkeys, monkeys and chimps.

It has an area of more than 100,000 square meters and has a total investment of more than 1 billion yuan ( $ 1 60 million). It is one of the key cultural projects in Fujian, and is striving to become a highlight for travellers in Xiamen.
