Since April 15, the Changting Tourism Bureau has joined hands with the Changting Ting River Source Tourism Development Co Ltd to solicit from the public a catchy advertising slogan for “the Number One Hakka Rafting Site”, in an effort to make it a household name to tourists in and outside Fujian Province.
"The Number One Hakka Rafting Site" is located in Anjie township, Changting county, where the Changting River-the mother river of the Hakka people (an ethnic minority in South China)- has its origin. It takes about two hours to drift down the five-kilometer waterway that is uniquely charming and steeped in Hakka folklore, passing by fifteen ponds, six shoal areas, four rural areas, four groups of cliff inscriptions, three old-growth forests, and one limestone cave.
People are welcome to join the slogan brainstorming before May 14, by finding more information on the Longyan Tourism Website (www.fjlyta.com ) and emailing their version and its explanatory text to tingjiangyuan2013@163.com. Anyone whose slogan is chosen will be given 5,000 yuan($801, and another ten people 500 yuan each for their brilliant, creative ideas.
