Seven entrepreneurs from Fujian province have made the list of Chinese billionaires released by Forbes on Monday.
The list singles out 290 Chinese with a net worth of at least $1 billion, who account for 17.6 percent of wealthiest people across the globe. They have an accrued net worth of $875.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 22 percent, or $157.1 billion.
Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing tops the list, with $31 billion.
Of the 290 richest in China, 152 hail from the mainland, with Wang Jianlin, chairman of the board of Wanda Group, being the alpha dog, with a net worth of $15.1 billion.
Among the seven Fujian entrepreneurs who made the list, Shi Wenbo and Xu Lianjie, who are board chairman and vice board chairman of Hengan Group, are tied, with net worth of $2.6 billion, followed by Chen Fashu, board chairman of Newhuadu Industrial Group, with $2.3 billion.
Forbes ranks Shi and Xu at No.92, and Chen at No.109.
The other four Fujian entrepreneurs are Lin Xiucheng ($1.7 billion, board chairman of Sanan Group), Ke Xiping ($1.1 billion, board chairman of Hengxin Group), and brothers of Ding Shizhong ($1 billion, board chairman of Anta Group) and Ding Shijia ($1 billion, vice chairman of Anta Group).
