Business registration reform benefits Taiwan enterprises

The Commercial Registration and Administrative Methods of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone were officially implemented on Dec 1.

Representatives of Pingtan's Industrial and Commercial Bureau visited the Association of Taiwan Entrepreneurs in Pingtan on Dec 19, with the aim of discussing issues related to a new business registration system.

The Commercial Registration and Administrative Methods of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone were officially implemented on Dec 1, and stipulate that business owners can apply directly for business licenses from the Industrial and Commercial Bureau - thus streamlining commercial registration processes and introducing more preferential policies for Taiwan businesspeople in the zone.

Lin Qiaoying, a Taiwan entrepreneur, said the simplification of the registration process is a very positive step as it saves much time for businesses.

Li Yunchao, who has conducted business in Pingtan for many years, said that the fact that the new registration methods allow names of Taiwan brands to be used is very heartwarming – and the new system will also help facilitate procedures for Taiwan entrepreneurs.

The new registration system stipulates that business owners can jump off competent authorities and directly apply business licenses from the Industrial and Commercial Bureau.

Li Guoliang, a construction company boss said that the business threshold in Pingtan was lowered and definitely appealed to a number of coveting Taiwan peers.
