An investigation and research group of the Yunnan government arrived in Dehong on Oct 18. They will visit the golden tower in Menghuan (Mangshi City). The Buddhist tower is the largest golden tower in China. The group will also visit important places of Dehong ethnic culture, and the Aochen International Tourism Town in Mangshi City.

Along their way to the city of Ruili, they will also inspect the construction of Stilwell Dock Wetland Park and other tourist resorts. During World War II, Stilwell was chief of staff of the Kuomintang, commissioned by Chiang Kai Shek. From Ruili, he led his army to Myanmar and India to fight the Japanese army. People named the place after him in commemoration of this American General.
