Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau donates another 500,000 to Dehong prefecture

On the afternoon of September 9, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs donated another 500,000 relief funds to Yingjiang of Dehong prefecture. They once donated a large number of clothing, food and other relief supplies worth 1.5 million yuan to a nursing house in 2008.

Deputy Secretary-General of Beijing Municipal Government Hou Yulan, deputy party secretary of Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau Li Jing and other relevant leaders took a special trip to attend the donation ceremony. Standing Committee of Dehong prefecture Li Yanlan, Secretary-General of the prefecture Zhou Zanhong and other leaders also attended the donation ceremony.

Hou Yulan delivered a warm speech at the ceremony. In her speech, she described the severe damage the drought in 2008 brought to the southeast area, and how the capital people helped them with the relief work. “Under the leadership of the municipal committee and government, Dehong people’s living standards will improve, and they will have a better future,“said Hou.

On behalf of the municipal committee and government, Li Yanlan extended a warm welcome to the arrival of Hou Yulan and her party, and appreciated the great support of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs to Dehong municipal government.
