Lei Jun graduated from Wuhan University in 1991 after majoring in computer engineering. In 2003, Lei was the director of the Board for Wuhan University.
Currently, Lei Jun serves as vice chairman of the Board of Kingsoft (stock code: 3888. HK). Joining Kingsoft in early 1992, Lei held the post as CEO from 1998 to 2007 and led the company to complete its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the HKEx.
In 2000, Lei established an e-commerce company called Joyo.com and worked as chairman. It developed rapidly into a famous company in the e-commerce field and was subsequently sold to Amazon.com at a price of $75 million in September 2004.
As a well-known investor in China, Lei has invested in some first-class start-up companies, such as UCWeb, VANCL, Duowan, and Lakala.
