Li Bin, governor of Anhui province, hailed the provincial women's handball team for winning the championship.

The team was crowned as the National Women's Handball Champions Cup on March 31, defeating defending champion of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) 26-24.

The news caused a splash in the province.

After governor Li praised the team, vice governor Xie Guangxiang encouraged the team to trains harder for the 2013 National Sports Games.
