A software platform utilizing ethnic languages was launched Thursday in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, propelling the development of information-based technologies in ethnic language areas. The country's first Mongolian language software, which meets the relevant national standards, was released the same day.

The platform www.nationsoft.org was created by China Standard Software featuring requirement collections, technology research and development along with training and promotions, according to the company.

At the launch ceremony, the company donated 20,000 sets of Mongolian language software products co-developed with the Computer Science School of Hohhot, based at Inner Mongolia University, to the local government for office and educational use.

A training base was also established in Hohhot, aiming to assist people with using the new Mongolian software products. The company has developed ethnic language operating systems and office software products that utilize Tibetan, Mongolian, and Uygur languages.
