Reconstruction nearly completed in Bailu
The reconstruction of Bailu town, which was damaged in the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, is drawing to an end, the government of Sichuan province's Pengzhou city says.
The town is known for its Western-style buildings, and the reconstruction is designed to restore the original architecture with some additions to add tourism appeal.
Highlights of the reconstruction programs include the French-style shopping street, a food street and a riverside pedestrian path. The town will open to visitors by the middle of next year.
