The Pasadena Grand Theater, with a capacity of more than 3,000 seats, was fully packed Saturday night. Chinese artists treated an eager audience with their repertory programs, consisting of various art forms.
Performing artists included acrobats from the national acrobatic troupe of China, martial art masters from Luo Yang of central China's Henan province, known as the cradle of Chinese Kung Fu, and a group of children from a Chinese elementary school.
"I've lived in Los Angeles for more than twenty years. This art troupe from my home country visits us at this time every year, and that makes me feel very happy."
The theme of Chinese ethnic culture dominated the evening. Artists and musicians from minority groups such as Yi, Mongolian, and Uygur mesmerized the packed house with their distinguished pieces saturated with exotic flavor.
