Marketing 'Brand China' through pictures
The Shanghai Volume and Jiangsu Volume of China Encyclopedic Picture Album Concerning Economy, Trade, Investment and Tourism are now out, and are designed to promote a brand new image of contemporary China to the outside world.
The Shanghai Volume provides authoritative information on Shanghai's economy, trade, investment and tourism, while also highlighting the World Expo Shanghai 2010.
The Jiangsu Volume gives a detailed account of Jiangsu's history, culture, investment climate and folklore.
14 screenplays in the running for top award
China Film Association announced the nominees for best screenplay for its Second Film Script Awards, in Beijing on Jan 21.
Fourteen screenplays, including four made for television, were selected from about 500 entries made between November 2009 and October 2010.
The contenders include Su Xiaowei (Aftershock), Alex Law (Echoes of the Rainbow) and Yin Lichuan/Gu Xiaobai (Under the Hawthorn Tree).
The seven winning works will be selected by the association's film literature department and the awards will be given in March.
Launch of culture industry park in Shanxi province
The launch ceremony of Changzhi Cultural Creative Industry Park was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, on Monday.
Run by Changzhi municipal government, Shanxi province, the park was built following State Council approval for Shanxi province to become a trial zone for transformation of its conventional industries.
A platform for enterprises related to the cultural creative industry, the park will foster diversified projects such as a trading platform for China's films and TV series initiated by the Communication University of China, and a modern eco-agriculture demonstration park designed by a top-notch French architect.
Nation's hottest mobile phone magazines revealed
China Periodicals Association and Viva Mobile Media have jointly announced the 2010 Chart of Chinese Mobile Phone Magazine, the first of its kind. According to statistics provided by the two organizations, the most popular mobile phone magazines of China in 2010 were For Him, Rayli, and Chinese National Geography.
Vista was the most popular mobile phone magazine in the news category, China Auto Pictorial in the automobile category, and Caijing in the Finance and Economics category.
According to Viva Mobile Media, China's mobile phone readers total more than 100 million, and the most popular mobile phone magazines attract over 1 million readers for a single issue.
