The Expo opened with "Legends of Flight" at the Dongguan Science and Technology Museum. The flick was displayed on an giant IMAX screen, entertaining cinema goers with its strong visual impact.

Zhang Jianlun, Dongguan Science & Technology Museum, said, "The audience might feel they are involved in the world the movie depicts. The experiences of flying high in the air or sailing on a vast ocean can be so real that you'll forget where you are."

Dongguan boasts the largest IMAX screen in Asia. And that's why the Giant Screen Cinema Association, or GSCA, held the Film Expo in China for the very first time ever.

A total of 14 IMAX and 3-D movies provided by Canada, the United States, France, Japan and Belgium will be screened at the expo in the month to come.

The Asia Film Expo is the culmination of three years of discussions and preparations between GSCA and the Dongguan Science and Technology Museum. The event helps promote the exchange of cutting-edge movie technology and put China on the map of the movie industry.

GSCA was founded in 2006. The core purpose of it is to advance the business of producing and presenting giant screen experiences. So far GSCA boasts membership of around 5-hundred organizations around the world that are engaged in the fields of production, distribution and exhibition of giant screen experiences.
