China, Vietnam to host mass youth gala
3,000 young people from Vietnam will gather with their Chinese counterparts in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from Aug. 25 to 29 in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations.
Chen Jiwa, vice chief of the Communist Party of China's Guangxi regional committee, announced in a press conference here Thursday.
They would plant friendship trees, attend friendship forums, evening galas and many other activities.
The program, jointly sponsored by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and Guangxi authorities, was one important component of the activities of to mark the Sino-Vietnam Friendship Year this year, said Chen.
Vietnam borders China on Guangxi and Yunnan Province.Vietnam has been Guangxi's top trade partner for six years and tourism, education and cultural exchanges have grown.
