Royal philharmonic

Ten years after its first appearance in Shanghai, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from the UK will give the closing concert for Shanghai Grand Theater's 2009-10 season. Maestro Charles Dutoit will conduct the show, and Canadian violinist Chantal Juillet will star.

Taboo breaker

A solo exhibition by Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki is now on. Araki is the most controversial photographer working in the world today. To his critics, he is no more than a pornographer and a misogynist; to his supporters he is a radical and a revolutionary figure who has challenged not just artistic limits, but also social limits in post-war Japan.

Indonesian artists

Over 20 Indonesian artists exhibit works that exemplify the unique development of contemporary art in Indonesia. They interpret a wide range of subjects - figurative, abstract and conceptual through painting, photography, video, sculpture and interactive installations.
