Disney brings classic fairy tales to Beijing

Play with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Dance around Snow White, Help Cinderella win the prince's heart. Things that kids have dreamed about can now come true, as Disney brings plays of its three classic fairy tales to Beijing.

In the theatre lobby, many Disney souvenirs successfully catch the little audience's attention. Kids don't want to move their hands or eyes away from those lovely glasses or other toys with Mickey and Goofy images on. To them, this is the fairy kingdom.

As for the play, the stage is designed as a picture frame. The blue velvet curtains and spectacular settings make it like a wonderland. When the play begins, the magic book at the right side of the stage that links the whole play is gradually opened. Mickey, Minny and Donald Duck are about to embark on their journey in the wonderland of Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty and Beast. As if invited by these lovely characters, the little audience are all attracted, actively participating in playing, singing and dancing with the actors.

Actress said, "I had to somewhat learn mandarin. So that took a lot of my time. So I could express,and the kids can understand. You know, so I had to learn that so I can express the feelings of the character to the kids."

The "Three Classic Fairy Tales" will have 12 shows in Beijing this time. Eleven of them will have Chinese dubbing, and the American actors and actresses will lip-synch.

As for the other one that is in English, subtitles will be provided for kids to understand the story and they may even learn some English while enjoying the play.
