Man suing woman for alimony may be father

A man who raised his ex-girlfriend's child for 15 years sued her for 80,000 yuan ($11,705) in compensation but was turned down after the woman shocked the court by saying he was the boy's father.

She abandoned the child 15 years ago in Tongzhou, Beijing, to take a job far away and never returned. He took her to court after he found her a few days ago.

To his dismay, she claimed in court that the man was the boy's father. She said she left to make a living since the man was a gambling addict.

The court said a paternity test was required before they rule.
